Toby Goes Home

Toby Keith says sure, there will be a benefit concert to help victims of the massive tornado in his hometown of Moore, Oklahoma. But he says the town where he grew up has more pressing concerns than a show. He says there are still funerals and memorials to attend, people in hospitals who need healing - and homes that need to be boarded up or rebuilt. Once those immediate needs are cared for, Keith says he and his musician friends will be on hand to try to raise money to help in the recovery effort. As a native son of Moore, Keith is feeling the tragedy - and it has affected members of his family. He says his sister's home was damaged in the twister and some of his relatives are bunking together because of the storm.

Blake Joins Fundraiser

Blake Shelton also hails from Oklahoma - and he is working on doing something to help tornado victims, too. He says there will be a benefit in Oklahoma City - not far from Moore, where most of the damage was. Shelton teamed up with his wife Miranda Lambert to perform an acoustic version of "Over You" on the NBC show "The Voice" as a tribute to those affected. NBC is also helping with the benefit Shelton is planning. More details about the fundraising effort by Shelton and one by Moore native Toby Keith will be released later.
At least 24 people, including nine schoolchildren were killed Monday when an F5 tornado packing 200 mile-per-hour winds touched down for 40 minutes, destroying entire neighborhoods in the process.
