Taylor Swift's 'The Tortured Poets Department' Spends Second Week Atop Billboard 200

Taylor Swift's new album, The Tortured Poets Department, is ranked No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a second straight week.

The surprise double album earned 439,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the April 26-May 2 tracking week, according to Laminate.

The equivalent album units are 83 percent less than what the album scored while making its debut on top of the chart the previous week.

The 31-track double album generated 428.54 million on-demand official streams.

Swift dropped her highly anticipated album via Republic Records on April 19, and within a few days, it became the top-selling album of 2024 with 1.914 million units sold.

While the first volume features collaborations with Post Malone and the English indie rock band Florence + the Machine, the second volume contains 15 additional songs, four of which are previously announced physical bonus tracks. "Fortnight", featuring Malone, was named the album's lead single.

Written and produced by Swift, Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner, the 31-track double album has more than two hours of playing time in total.

The Tortured Poets Department is the eleventh studio album by the singer-songwriter and her fifth studio album in less than five years.

It is followed by Morgan Wallen's One Thing at a Time at No. 2, Future and Metro Boomin's We Don't Trust You at No. 3, Beyonce's Cowboy Carter at No. 4, and Noah Kahan's Stick Season at No. 5 on the latest chart, dated May 11.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate.

Miranda Lambert Shares Fiery New Single 'Wranglers'

Miranda Lambert Shares Fiery New Single 'Wranglers'

Miranda Lambert recently released a fiery new single, "Wranglers," via Republic Records/Big Loud.

Lambert recorded the song with songwriter/producer Jon Randall at Austin's Arlyne Recording Studios. It features Jedd Hughes and Ethan Ballinger on electric guitar, Rachel Loy on bass, and Conrad Choucroun on drums.

Audra Mae, Evan McKeever and Ryan Carpenter co-wrote "Wranglers." Audra also sings the verses.

"'Wranglers' is a classic tale of a woman taking her power back," Lambert says of the sizzling post-outlaw classic. "I think we can all identify with the character in this song, because we have all had a time in our life where we needed to find our strength, and also get a little revenge on someone who did us wrong or hurt us. This offers such a cool, raging take on how something like this unravels; I think the songwriters nailed it."

"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned/ When the knock down drag out's over/ And Lord knows she took one too many. " sings Lambert.

"I am so proud to sing this song," Lambert says. "It feels like it could have been on the same record as 'Gunpowder & Lead' in a lot of ways. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned is a pretty powerful statement, and the way it's written, you can tell, we're not kidding."

Lambert debuted the song with a live performance at the Stagecoach festival late last month.

Keith Urban Teams Up With Lainey Wilson On 'Go Home W U'

Keith Urban Teams Up With Lainey Wilson On 'Go Home W U'

Country superstar Keith Urban recently shared "Go Home W U," his collaboration with Lainey Wilson.

"Go Home W U" is the third song Urban has released from his upcoming album, which is due out in the fall. "Messed Up As Me" and "Straight Line" are the previous singles.

Urban wrote the song with Breland, Sam Sumser and Sean Small in 2020.

"We had a blast writing it. It started out as a late-night drum loop, I grabbed a bass guitar and started playing a simple recurring bass line. Before we knew it, we were writing a chorus that could be sung by any drunk person in any bar anywhere in the world," said the Australian singer-songwriter.

According to Urban, the song was "not meant to be a duet" but turned into one when the CMA Entertainer of the Year agreed to join him.

"A friend of mine suggested the idea of making the song a duet and I immediately thought of Lainey," he said. "Besides the fact that I love her voice, she's got the swagger and attitude that fit so well with the song."

"Keith has been someone in the industry I've taken notes from for a while now," said Wilson. "From watching him at CMA Fest every year growing up to hearing the way he treats people up and down music row, he has taught me a lot. He's a genuine supporter of mine and I am honored I get to continue to learn from one of the best. Getting to do a song with Keith is a notch on my belt I am very proud of."

According to Rucker, it was one of the favorite songs he has ever written.

"Now, to have Jennifer add her incredible voice to such an emotional song, you feel even more of what this couple is facing; unravelling the life they've built together. I'm so grateful she agreed to sing on it with me," added the three-time Grammy Award-winner.

"I've wanted to collaborate with Darius for such a long time! And when I heard the song, I loved its story," said Nettles. "But in addition to its theme of lifelong love, it feels so perfect for Darius and I to sing it together."

"Both of our careers have grown and changed so dramatically since we each started out," she added. "And, as the hook sings, 'We've been a lot of things, but we've never been over.' This song is a beautiful example and extension of that constant evolution."
