Polk County – Hurricane Matthew Update 10/7/16 10:30 AM
Hurricane Matthew is about 45 miles offshore of the coast near Daytona Beach. It continues to move toward the NNW along the coast and the eyewall remains offshore. Rain bands continue to move through Polk County with winds of 40-50 mph. Rain is light to moderate at times. This rain should taper off this afternoon with no flooding expected. It will remain breezy tonight and tomorrow. After a nice weekend, Matthew could loop back around toward the Bahamas or South Florida next week but it should be a much, much weaker system. No impacts are expected in our area.
