Hank Williams Jr. Announces Dan Auerbach-Produced Blues Album

Hank Williams Jr. has announced that his new album, Rich White Honky Blues, will arrive on June 17.

The Country Music Hall of Fame member’s 57th studio album is produced by the Black KeysDan Auerbach and released by his Easy Eye Sound label.

Hank Williams also released the album’s lead single, “.44 Special Blues.”

Electric slide guitarist Kenny Brown, bassist Eric Deaton and drummer Kinney Kimbrough backed Williams for the recording.

“The blues is where it all comes from,” Williams said in a statement. “It’s the start of everything musical in my family; everything starts with Tee-Tot and flows from there.”

“I’ve always flirted with this stripped back blues – all the way back to the ’80s. But I finally made an album that’s just that, and I like it,” he added.

Rich White Honky Blues marks the first album by the 72-year-old son of the legendary country singer Hank Williams since 2016.

The announcement of the new album came two days after Williams’ wife Mary Jane Thomas died.
