Kenny Chesney Decides To Release New Album 'Born' On Vinyl

Kenny Chesney Decides To Release New Album 'Born' On Vinyl

Country superstar Kenny Chesney has decided to release his new album, Born, on double-disc vinyl on May 24.

"I'm lucky," Chesney says of releasing a vinyl edition of the 15-track album. "I have fans who still believe in the actual listening experience, starting an album at the beginning and taking the journey the songs are creating. Experiencing and asking 'how does this music define a moment or a state of life? How does it color or reflect my mind?' "So much of my own life's been defined by what I was listening to over the years, and still is. That's a whole different way of consuming music than just a hit," he added. "Knowing that, I decided to go ahead and do vinyl. It's a limited run, but it's there for all the people who put on albums and make that kind of listening a destination. For anyone who sinks into the songs, this is for you."

Chesney debated releasing a vinyl edition of Born, as all fifteen songs couldn't fit on one disc, and he didn't want to choose which songs to leave off.

"It's a lot of music, and a lot of life," Chesney acknowledges. "I realized all that can be taken in in different ways. While we're only doing a limited pressing, which will be available at select retail stores and through the website, I wanted this music to be in whatever form No Shoes Nation wants to experience it through..."

Fans can pre-order their vinyl copy of Born beginning April 18 at 11 p.m. CT.

Chesney's the Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour is kicking off this weekend at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium on April 20.

Chris Stapleton Joins Slash On Cover Of Fleetwood Mac's 'Oh Well'

Chris Stapleton joined Guns 'N' Roses guitarist Slash for a cover version of Fleetwood Mac's 1969 hit "Oh Well." The cover will feature on Slash's upcoming blues album, Orgy of the Damned.

"I knew from the beginning I wanted to do ['Oh Well'] on this record," Slash said in a statement. "It was also one of the songs that I was trying to figure out who would be the right vocalist for it, and one of the ideas I had was Chris Stapleton, who is one of the most brilliant singer-songwriters today. He's also got such a gritty and distinctive voice, so I called him up and he did an amazing job. I mean, his voice is so cool."

The 12-track Orgy of the Damned, which is Slash's sixth solo album, is due out on May 17 via Gibson Records.

Cole Swindell Shares New Romantic Ballad 'Forever To Me'

Country singer-songwriter Cole Swindell recently shared a new romantic ballad, "Forever to Me."

The song was co-written by Swindell and follows a guy recounting putting a ring on his sweetheart and all it entails.

"She gave eighteen summers to Caroline/ Spent a few more wild and free/ Gave a long shot chance to a Georgia boy in Tennessee/ I gav? a promise to her daddy/ And a grass stain to my knee/ I mighta gave h?r the diamond, but she gave forever to me," Swindell sings in the chorus.

"To be living in a moment and get to write about it, I don't think it can ever get more real than that," says Swindell, who's engaged to Courtney Little. "Outside of 'You Should Be Here,' I think this song is honestly one of the most personal songs I have written and shows exactly where I am in my life."

"Forever to Me" marks a preview of Swindell's forthcoming as-yet-untitled fifth album.

Tracy Lawrence Shares Soulful Heartbreak Country Ballad 'Gulf Of Mexico'

Tracy Lawrence Shares Soulful Heartbreak Country Ballad 'Gulf Of Mexico'

Tracy Lawrence recently shared the next track off his forthcoming EP, Out Here In It, the soulful heartbreak country ballad "Gulf of Mexico."

"Gulf of Mexico" is the second release off his six-song EP, which is due to be released on June 7.

"I love a good ballad," said Lawrence. "These kind of songs have always been some of my favorites to sing. When I heard Gulf of Mexico it was instantly a favorite that I had to record and put on the EP. I can't wait for everyone to hear this song and like it as much as I do."

"Gulf of Mexico" offers a neon lit, slow dance spin to the center of the EP, providing a roadmap of the broken-hearted, runaway places that Lawrence has searched for to mend his fractured heart.

Penned by Monty Criswell, Derek George and Bubba Strait, the track tugs heartstrings when Lawrence confesses that no matter how far he tries to run away from her and drown out the memory of what they used to share, she's still in full ownership of his heart.

In addition to the song, a new music video was also released. Set against the backdrop of the Gulf's rolling blue ocean waves, Lawrence's spotlight puts his smooth, steady vocals on display as he sings through the soul-searching emotions heartbreak brings to the forefront.

Sam Hunt Calls DUI Arrest A 'Wake-Up Call'

Sam Hunt Calls DUI Arrest A 'Wake-Up Call'

Country star Sam Hunt has called his 2019 arrest on driving under the influence charges a "wake-up call."

During an interview with Evan Paul on Taste of Country Nights, Hunt said, "Well, it was a wake-up call immediately, you know, the next day. I think over time, you know, you reflect on it, you realize, you know, you learn from your mistakes."

Hunt recently released the title track from his new Locked Up EP and also announced a tour with the same name.

Hunt tells Taste of Country Nights, "The song itself though, it's not, you know, it may seem autobiographical if you connect the dots. But, you know, I made a point not to go into the details in the song about my story."

"I tried to zoom it out and make it more relatable so that it feels more like it's about making a big mistake or messing up, and having your significant other stick with you through that. And realizing through that how much she loves you and how much you love her, and how strong your bond is," he added.

Taylor Swift's Catalog Returns To TikTok Ahead Of New Album

Taylor Swift's Catalog Returns To TikTok Ahead Of New Album

Taylor Swift's songs are back on TikTok a few days ahead of the release of her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, which is due out on April 19.

Several Swift songs, including "You Belong With Me," "Lover," "Cardigan," "Mirrorball," "Fearless (Taylor's Version)," "Cruel Summer," "Cardigan," "Style (Taylor's Version)," "Is It Over Now? (Taylor's Version)," "The Man" and "ME!" - were back on TikTok by Thursday (April 11), available for users to incorporate into their videos.

After Universal Music Group let its licensing agreement with TikTok lapse on January 31, due to the app's unwillingness to pay for the "fair value" of music, Swift's catalog was pulled from the app in February. UMG also cited other concerns such as AI and artist safety as the reasons for letting the agreement lapse.

In a letter to its artists on January 30 explaining the licensing spat, UMG wrote, "With respect to the issue of artist and songwriter compensation, TikTok proposed paying our artists and songwriters at a rate that is a fraction of the rate that similarly situated major social platforms pay."

TikTok countered that Universal was engaging in "false narrative and rhetoric." TikTok said, "It is sad and disappointing that Universal Music Group has put their own greed above the interests of their artists and songwriters."

It now seems TikTok has reached a separate deal with Swift who owns her masters and presumably would have the ability to strike her own arrangement. It is also said that with her new album, The Tortured Poets Department set to arrive on April 19, Swift is partnering with TikTok to promote the album.

There is no clarification as yet about the reappearance of Swift's songs on the app. Neither TikTok nor representatives for Swift have responded to requests for comment. UMG has not spoken about the move as well.

Terri Clark Announces First-Ever Headlining Show At Ryman Auditorium

Terri Clark has announced that her first-ever headlining show at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville will take place on August 29.

"The Ryman Auditorium holds a special significance for every country singer on the planet and I'm no exception," said Clark. "It's not just a structure to me. "It is one of the rare, truly iconic venues that has become not just a dream gig for artists of any genre - it is a goal. No matter who you are, when you step on the stage inside the Mother Church, you're praying to the gods of country music for just a little extra grace that night," she added. "The sound in the Ryman is unparalleled. We'll have a few surprises and will be pulling out all the stops to ensure this is a night to remember for everyone - no matter if you're on the stage or sitting in the pews under the glow of the stained glass."

Kelly Clarkson Covers Miley Cyrus And Stevie Nicks' 'Edge Of Midnight'

Kelly Clarkson covered Miley Cyrus and Stevie Nicks' 2020 hit "Edge of Midnight" during the "Kellyoke" segment of a recent episode of "The Kelly Clarkson Show."

Clarkson, wearing a black leather skirt and a vintage Billy Joel concert tee, rendered the lead single from Miley's seventh studio album, Plastic Hearts.

"Yeah, it's been a long night and the mirror's tellin' me to go home/ But it's been a long time since I felt this good on my own/ Lotta years went by with my hands tied up in your ropes/ Forever and ever, no more," Clarkson sang before busting into the self-assured chorus.

"I was born to run, I don't belong to anyone, oh no/ I don't need to be loved by you," she sang with the backup singers providing soulful support. "Fire in my lungs, can't bite the devil on my tongue, oh no/ I don't need to be loved by you."

"Edge of Midnight" hit No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 in December 2020.

The new version of "Friends Like That" will impact on country radio on April 22.
