Miranda Lambert, Leon Bridges To Release New Duet 'If You Were Mine'
Miranda Lambert and Leon Bridges have announced they will release a new duet, "If You Were Mine," on June 6 across all major digital platforms.
The love song, co-written by Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Jesse Frasure, tells the feelings of two people loving each other from a distance.
"If You Were Mine" is the first in a series of collaborations that Lambert recently said were "up my sleeve."
"I have been a big fan of Leon for a while because he is very authentic as an artist and I love his music. I wrote this song with Ashley Monroe and Jesse Frasure, specifically with Leon in mind," Lambert said about the song that centers around the theme of "unrequited love."
She added, "Since we are both from Texas, we threw in a few Texas references, of course - the Frio River being one. When we finished this song, we sent it to Leon in hopes that he would want to collaborate and we were so glad that he said yes. I have really enjoyed getting to know him and I'm happy to have him as a new friend."
Bridges said, "I was humbled to have Miranda ask if I'd join her on this beautiful duet she wrote. Getting in the studio with her in Nashville to sing this song together was magic. There's nothing better than two Texans on one mic!"
Bridges is currently recording music for his upcoming album.

Jack Johnson, the Doobie Brothers and Brad Paisley are set to headline the upcoming BeachLife Ranch festival, scheduled to take place September 22 - 24 on the waterfront in Redondo Beach, California.
The Avett Brothers, Wynonna Judd, Blackberry Smoke, Shakey Graves, Bahamas, Keb' Mo', Midland, Yola and Amanda Shires are among other acts named in the lineup for the festival.
Shooter Jennings will present The Highwaymen Revival set at the festival, while Devon Allman and Donavon Frankenreiter are set to bring their "World Record Attempt: See It All American Tour" to Redondo Beach.
The festival co-founder and producer Allen Sanford said last year that the goal was to introduce the concept to the community and build awareness for the "coastal country" event.
"It's a difficult brand exercise," Sanford said of developing a second festival at one location. "It's still the same good time, still boutique catered to the consumer, not big lines, not crazy busy, just a different vibe more inspired by Central California, country/Americana and folk."
The inaugural BeachLife Ranch last year was topped by Brandi Carlile, The Lumineers and Dierks Bentley.

Jewel Draws Mixed Reaction For National Anthem At Indy 500
Jewel's acoustic rendition of the U.S. national anthem "The Star Spangled Banner" at this year's Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday (May 28) has drawn a mixed reaction from fans.
Clad in an all-white outfit with a checkered flag tucked beneath her cowboy hat, Jewel performed a soulful rearranged version of the national anthem, strumming her guitar as she sang.
Jewel previously delivered a similar rendition of the classic tune prior to the 2023 NBA All-Star Game in Salt Lake City in late February.
"Jewel butchered the national anthem at the Indy 500. People were trying to sing along but couldn't because of the way she sang it. What a shame," tweeted one person.
Another one wrote, "Jewel's national anthem for indy 500 might be the worst anthem rendition to date."
One Twitter user demanded Jewel "STOP CHANGING THE MELODY AND RHYTHM OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM," and even put her rendition in her personal "top 3 least favorites."
"For the love of god, just sing the national anthem as it's meant to be sung. Don't put your own spin on it. Sacrilegious. Ugh," Twitter user Concerned Canadian Serena posted.
However, several fans praised her performance. "Jewel just did the best national anthem I've ever heard in my life I'm not exaggerating," a viewer tweeted.
Some even admitted they "found nothing wrong" with Jewel's rendition and argued there's "no one right way or style to sing the National Anthem, as long it's respectful."
"Never felt patriotic in my whole life til sitting through jewel singing the national anthem at the indy 500," wrote one user.
